New Experiments!! (2012)

In August 2012, I was intrigued by a recipe made by Kylie Kwong, which was a dish specially made during the festivities,  Christmas! however, i wanted to try it out and invite my closest family members to taste it.. so decided to make Belly Pork Braised in Red wine with Cherries and Bacon!! It was a very rich dish but it did come out well.. I also made Mediterranean Garlic Chicken, and my cousin brought a healthy Green salad and a Creamy Potato salad to go with the dinner.

This was a first time experiment and it turned out well.. and I'm glad it did as i enjoyed sharing it with my loved ones just a few months before i left Sri Lanka.

I also must mention the experiment done by my Cousin and her husband, for my Aunt's Birthday! (aka Ammi) They cooked a whole meal for about 30-35 people and it was just amazing. I must say Nilanka did it again with his culinary skills. The Night started with Home made Sangria, Liver pate canopies, Cheese dips and then Pork Chops, Chicken Corden Bleu, Hot Butter CuttleFish, Pasta, Salads and Akki's famous and delicious desserts to end the night!
